Jacky Ferguson is an Artist and Tutor who delivers the Art class at Stewarton Academy. She is a professional artist with an Honors Degree in Fine Art from the University of Cape Town, South Africa.
Her class provides a relaxing and informal space where you can discover your hidden creativity and develop skills at your own individual pace. If you are a complete novice, a doodler or an enthusiastic amateur and have a love of Art, then this is the class for you! She teaches a wide variety of topics – frequently directed by requests from the class!. Current students range in age from high school to mature students and they all thoroughly enjoy the two hours every week. A bit of a chat, a lot of banter and uninhibited artistic critic is the class norm. There is also a yearly exhibition where you get the chance to sell your artwork and invite your family and friends along to show them what you have achieved. The exhibitions are always very successful with paintings sold on the opening night.
Jacky argues that everyone has an inner Artist and her methodology is simply having fun with Art, building confidence and helping to develop each student’s individuality.
